Sweet Charity

One of my favourite reasons for going home for the Easter holidays (you should all know by now that I'm a third year Fashion Journalism student, tsk tsk!), is the amazing line up of charity shops in my hometown Wokingham. There's 5 in the town centre consisting of Oxfam, Hospice Car, Sue Ryder and 2 that I forget the name of now! But the truth of the matter is that I am obsessed with hunting for clothes; I honestly get as much thrill out of vintage shopping in London as I do charity shopping in Wokingham or my term-time home of Southampton. I love it because aside from the fact that your money isnt just being added to the pile as with retail giants like H&M or Topshop, it's mostly because you just don't know what you'll find in store. High street chains are predictable and trend-driven most of the time, (although, don't get me wrong, I love a good find in Zara or Toppers) but with charity and vintage shops the stock is usually in constant rotation so there's always something new to be discovered! So without further ado, here's a few of my finds from the Easter hols, taken in my parents beautiful back garden;

Vibrant orange oversized jumper, not sure what I'm doing with it yet but inspiration will
strike soon and I'll be glad to have it!

Cream ribbed jumper; you can't see very well in this picture but this jumper is the
perfect snug fit ribbed cream jumper!

Cream ribbed knit jumper; yes this looks similar to the one above but it isnt!
This is a bigger fit and has more knitted design on the front

Grey wool blazer; this is an oversized blazer that I plan to tailor abit so its more fitted and
will become my new all purpose coat as my old Zara one is on its last legs!

Shanghai Tang navy silk trousers; these trousers were an amazing find
at only £5 and are a perfect slim fit and length

The whole gang; here's everthing I bought with the addition of the amazing pillow that I snagged for only £3!

Paris in Spring Time

I'M GOING TO PARIS THIS APRIL!!!

To celebrate this amazingness I'm posting some pictures from my last trip to Paris during A/W 2010 Fashion Week. I went with friends and we had so much fun stalking editors in the Jardin de Tuileries, hunting down vintage shops, eating over priced but delicious food and drink, and not sleeping enough because we were too excited to want to miss anything that happened in the city! Bring it on!

Hot Like Mexico, Rejoice!!

I woke up this morning to see a glimmer of sunshine outside my window and it sparked inside me a longing for warm summer days, and the freedom of sandals and t-shirts thrown on straight from bed. It made me think of all the holidays I'd had, and the holidays I had still to come. 2009 was one of the best years of my life for many reasons. Firstly, I got to bring my Fiance (then boyfriend) on holiday with my family to Florida. I got to show him everything I knew and loved about my annual family holiday, such as the glorious beaches; the awesome supermarket Publix which has awesome American food like Eggos (delicious toastable waffles); the shopping malls where we'd spend hourafterhourafterhour shopping and wandering the department stores like Macy's and J.C Penny; taking a ride on the back of my dad's Harley to Hooters for chicken wings and beer; hiring a boat out for the day and driving it to a small island called Cabbage Key that sells hands down the BEST clam chowder in the world...man, i could go on..

But 2009 was so special because happily I got taken away by my Fiance's parents to a resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, to the most insanely beautiful resort I've ever had to pleasure of staying in. Obviously the most special part of the whole holiday (and my whole life!) was when my Fiance proposed to me while we were having a private dinner on the beach under the stars, and the experience is something I will treasure forever. We mostly stayed in the resort, as it was so huge and there was plenty to do, but when we did take day trips out they were spectacular and unforgettable. One of my favourite trips was to see the ancient ruins of Tulum as they hold so much historical significance for Mexico. It was a SCORCHING hot day but despite the wilting heat it was one of the most beautiful sites I've ever been to.

Here are a few pictures of the ruins and the beach they called 'The Kings Beach' because only the King was allowed to lounge and swim there. These photos are mostly of the beach but I really wanted to post these pictures because they bring back so many memories and because the sea there was the brightest, bluest, clearest etc-etc, sea I've ever seen, and I had to share! Don't forget to click and enlarge them! Aaaaaah paradise...

Best Holiday of 2010

So this is my first appearance on the blog! Be aware I do now have awesome short hair and my fiance Chris still looks the same..like a caveman. But he's my caveman! This was a week long trip to Centre Parcs in Longleat Forest and we had a blast; we stayed in our own house, went out for meals nearly every night, went swimming, played crazy golf and ping pong, ate pancakes and tapas...all in all it was an amazing holiday and here's the pictures as proof!
