White Sand & Long Limbs

Aside from the usual culprits (Lara Stone, Kate Moss, Malgosia Bela) Daria Werbowy is one of my favourite models. She's incredibly sexy but can switch to cool tomboy style too, and can go from glamourous haute couture to urban streetstyle with the flick of a hip! A versatile industry veteran, Daria's unbelieveable beauty and modelling skills are on full display in the May 2011 issue of ELLE Spain, as the whole magazine's dedicated to her! This editorial is gloriously summery and makes me crave the water and some strong sunshine! Don't forget to click on them for HQ!

The beauty section of ELLE Spain has been taken over by Daria too!

And just for funsies, here's some behind the scenes goodness:

Dries Van Noten S/S 2002

My third year dissertation is based around the cultural appropriation by fashion designers today (Rackk and Ruin sparked a great debate on this already) and I've spent many hours in my University's library scanning books and magazines for visual examples of this. One of the best things about writing a theory dissertation is that you can choose to write about whatever you want, so naturally I angled mine to include one of my favourite designers in the world; Mr Dries Van Noten! Here are some scans from Collezioni Donna magazine S/S 2002; this magazine is like Le Book, a quarterly magazine dedicated to indepth study of the womenswear shows and womens fashion. Anyway, feast your eyes on Dries Van Noten S/S 2002 which I think could totally be appropriate for this year given in the influx of beachy/hippie clothes!

Flowers In Her Hair

Publication: The New York Times T Magazine
Model: Tati Cotliar
Stylist: Robbie Spencer

This editorial is incredible! I wanted to post it as it features one of the most fun and inspirational models of the moment Tati Cotliar and is styled by one of my favourite stylists Robbie Spencer. I'm currently in my last term of University and having fun doing a styling & make-up unit, styling shoots every few weeks and working with other creative and inspiring students. This editorial is definately going in my sketchbook!

Here's my selection of covers and editorials from Grey magazine S/S 11. There are four covers to choose from, each one as amazing as the last. It looks like a great issue, so refreshing to see a real varied mix of editorials and models. Now to scoot down to London to get it!

MKA Hump Day Post!

Here are some scans from April's US Vogue that features an article on Mary-Kate and Ashley. I like how the pictures seem relaxed and even slightly spontaneous, but the one with the stilts?! WTF. And the shoot seems very 90's to me as well. Anyone?
