TGIF Tune

Artist: Lykke Li
Song: Sadness Is A Blessing
Director: Tarik Saleh
Stylist: Tekla Knaust

I am currently in love with with Lykke Li. She has amazing style and talent, and this video is testament to both; her acting is brilliant and she creates just the right amount of tension to make it compulsive viewing right to the end. And the dress designed by Anna-Sara Davik is absolutely gorgeous!

On another note posting may become very slow as I have finally landed an internship, at the world famous luxury fashion boutique Browns! Wish me luck!

Homeward Bound

Just a quick post on this hurried friday of mine. You all might think this is the lamest thing but I have these amazing memories from when I was young of me and my family driving 7 hours down from Northumberland to my grandma's in London, and me and my 2 sisters would be squashed up together in the back seat of the car, and we'd listen to Simon & Garfunkel over and over. This song is ironic as I am travelling home this weekend and will be leaving my term-time home in Southampton in a few weeks.  I firmly believe every household should have abit of S & G stashed away!

And just for a TGIF bonus:

Love, Angel, Music, Baby

Gwen Stefani has always been one of my style icons from back in the day, and Love, Angel, Music, Baby was THE album I listened to all of summer '05. This amazing chick's got style, talent and ambition, and she always looks effortlessly glam and has managed to create a wonderful family for herself to boot! She's been all over the media in the past few weeks so here's a round up of what Gwen's been up to - Firstly here's a few picks she made for Who What Wear; naturally there's a load of her fashion label L.A.M.B in there but I would love the bag or sweater! She's also on the cover of April's ELLE US magazine, and check out this candid shot from a few weeks ago; I can't imagine another person who could pull this look off as well as she does! Go Gwen!

RUSSSSSSSSSH

Abbey Lee and the band Our Mountain, featured in this April's Russh magazine. I wish more places stocked Russh because it's one of the best new magazines to come out in years! The picture collage was found on Spotding.com, a great blog founded by Fiona Jane; an amazingly stylish fashion entrepreneur! Check out her blog on the link above.

Tighten Up

The Black Keys are one of my favourite bands and their album 'Brothers' is a work of genius in my opinion; some of the best songs they've ever written are on this album. Perfect for a Friday night rock-out sesh!

Une Belle Femme

As I was researching my next article on top stylists for Running In Heels magazine, I came across this old editorial from Vogue Paris. Maybe I love it so much because it features one of my favourite models, and maybe it's because of the white blazers (which I'm currently hunting for), maybe it's the short wig (which I'm currently lusting after) but mostly it's gotta be the PERFECT styling. The clothes actually FIT in the editorial without being over powering, and dance a fine line between high fashion and commercial. Simple perfection. Have a listen to this Grizzly Bear remix of Feist's 'My Moon, My Man' while you look!

Music Muse

I absolutely love Lissie!! She's my current musical muse and reminds alot of Chan Marshall aka Cat Power. Seems to be alot of talented female singer/songwriters cropping up over the last few years, British and American. Man, what is it with me and American artists? Half of the music I listen to comes from there! America, home of the great (musicians). Check out more of her videos and music here

Abbey Lee - Rock n' Roll Woman

Abbey Lee Kershaw is in a band!

Well....maybe. I found this on a blog that states that whilst in London for Fashion Week, Abbey Lee apparently played a show with her boyfriend at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch. His band's called 'Our Mountain', I wonder if Abbey Lee is part of it or just playing the rock n' roll hippie muse?

Keith Richard's Life, Mick Jagger's Strife

Keith Richards new biography 'Life' seems like a solid read. Considering I've only peeped at the few pages published in The Times weekend magazine, it seems like an incredibly enthralling and entertaining book which I will consider popping onto my Christmas list for Santa this year.

What makes the whole book 'event' that more scandalous is Mick Jagger's reply, posted on the Purple Diary blog. Its a great way to spend 10 minutes and a real insight into the relationship between these two giants among men.
